Nigerian Fashion: A Designers Paradise

As some say, fashion passes, but in the end, style remains. A cry has risen from the whole of the African continent for definitive African fashion; a style all their own. With the influx of influence from the West,
the time has come for the African fashion houses to show what they've got. Several designers have come forward to accept this challenge and are producing incredible new inspirational designs. The true shame is that only a few of them get noticed outside their sphere of influence. Several Nigerian designers have left the nation and hit it big and have tried to direct their good fortune back home, with some great successes.

Nigerians have always been fashionable people, and style is becoming an increasingly popular concern. With Nigerian designers being noticed more, the fashion industry has come to recognize their fresh talent by bringing major fashion events to Nigeria's cities. These events not only bring the spotlight to bear in Nigeria's rising stars, but in their own way recognize the potential that has lain dormant for so long within the Nigerian people. It is very obvious just by walking down the street that just about half of Nigeria's population is concerned with being fashionable. And it's not just the younger generations that are concerned with their looks. Not when one day anyone can have their picture taken and wind up as best or worst dressed in the fashion section of a magazine.
